If you are like most people, you probably have gone through the grocery store and passed up the organic food section. This probably comes from the fact that we are intimidated by organic food. It sounds too much like tofu and other weird food that one might have to consume. Actually, the only thing different from regulargrocery store food and organic food is how it is processed. Organic food is actually more healthy in that no pesticides are used at any time during the cultivating of the crops. In order for food to be given the seal of approval and “certified” organic, the companies and farmers must first go through a battery of rigorous testing and must follow a specific set of rules and regulations.health

Eating organically grown food or food products is growing by leaps and bounds and more consumers are embracing the thought of eating more natural, healthy foods. It stands to reason that if food is not tainted with antibiotics and pesticides that it naturally would be more beneficial and healthy for the consumer.Organic food is not only good for the consumer, but because of its lack of pesticides and over-processing, the environment benefits greatly from organic farming because the soil will not be exposed to the harmful chemicals, etc. By purchasingorganic food, you, the consumer, are actually helping the environment in somewhat of a chain reaction. The farmer grows the organic food, you consume the organic food, the environment is protected from harmful chemicals, you are healthier and the organic farmer is wealthier.

While the whole organic food phase will continue to increase in popularity if we, the consumer, continue to embrace healthier eating and concern for the planet. Presently, there are not a lot of organic farmers or manufacturers but the numbers are steadily growing.
